How to Install AI Omnicam with a third-party mirror mount bracket

    Motive's AI Omnicam offers 360-degree monitoring and works seamlessly with the AI Dashcam for improved safety. It offers affordable vehicle surveillance with waterproof hardware and easy installation. Please follow the installation steps below.


    What comes in the box?

    The Motive AI Omnicam is shipped in two boxes; one with the camera and installation guide, and the other with the mounting plate and necessary tools.

    • 10 M3 Screws
    • Allen Key
    • 4 M4 Bolts

    • Power Drill
    • Drill Bits
    • Screwdriver
    • Step Drill or 17mm hole saw bit
    • Wire Stripper
    • Circuit fuse tap or an in-line fuse tap
    • 5 Amp fuse for each camera

    Steps: Installing the AI OmniCam


    Assemble the mount

    1. Remove the black sticker from the mounting plate.

    2. Attach the mirror mount to the mounting plate.

    3. Install the camera into the enclosure and route the cable through the base plate.

    4. Attach the mirror mount to the vehicle’s mirror.

    Route the cable into the vehicle and to the fuse panel

    5. Route the cable into the truck, securing any loose cable with zip ties.

    6. Route the cable to the vehicle's fuse panel, finding the path of least resistance.

    Connect the wiring to the fuse panel

    7. Insert the ground wire into a ring terminal and crimp it in place.

    8. Use wire strippers to expose 1 to 2 inches of the red wire, fold it into a loop, and insert it into the "Add a circuit" fuse tap.

    Power up the camera and wait for the software update.

    9. Plug the "Add a circuit" fuse tap into a battery-powered fuse.

    10. Wait for the camera to undergo a software update indicated by a white flashing LED.

    View the live stream through the Motive Fleet App.

    11. Log in to the Fleet App and tap Devices. Follow these steps.

    Adjust the camera's field of view and remove the protective film

    12. Adjust the camera within its enclosure to change the Field of View.

    13. Tighten the mount screws and remove the plastic protective film on the camera lens.
