Introduction
The Driver capture button on the AI Dashcam lets the driver quickly capture the event or footage they find worth sharing with Fleet Admins.
How Driver capture button helps you
The Driver capture button on the AI Dashcam helps the drivers notify the fleet admins about any events they think are worth documenting and share footage with their safety team with the push of a button.
Driver capture button overview
Location
The Driver capture button is located in the center of the AI Dashcam just above the LED light bar. The button is available on the road-facing (DC-53) and dual-facing (DC-54) models of the AI Dashcam. The button has a triangle and an oval symbol on it.
Function
- Pressing the Driver capture button uploads 30 seconds of video before and after the button is pressed for fleet/safety managers to review.
- After the button is pressed, the driver receives both audio and visual alerts indicating that their Driver capture video is being uploaded. These alerts are:
- Audible alert: Uploading Driver capture
- Visual LED alert.
Fleet user notifications
There are two different ways fleet admins can be notified of Driver capture events:
1. Email alerts
2. Fleet Dashboard
1. Email alerts
Fleet admins/managers can set alerts for Driver capture events from the Fleet Dashboard and get details whenever this type of event occurs.
Note: Only fleet admins/managers who have enabled Driver capture alerts on their Dashboard receive them, as this is not enabled by default. |
2. Fleet Dashboard
1. Log in to Fleet Dashboard and click Safety.
2. Click Events.
3. Click Behavior
4. Filter the required events by choosing Driver capture filter from the dropdown.
Does Driver capture events affect Safety Score?
- The Driver capture event doesn’t impact the driver's Safety Score.
- Drivers can press the button if the fleet admins want to know the exact location in case of an incident.
