Introduction
When a transaction is auto-declined, both Fleet Managers and Drivers receive specific notifications and actions. Understanding these responses is important for managing Motive Card security effectively. This article provides an overview of how Auto-decline Vehicle & spend location mismatch work.
Fleet Manager Email and Dashboard Alerts
Fleet Managers receive email notifications with details and quick links for appropriate actions. Additionally, an alert appears on the Fleet Dashboard, allowing Fleet Managers to disable the card settings if necessary. Moreover, relevant Fleet Manager’s email IDs should be recipient under Security and Fraud email settings on the Fleet Dashboard to be able to receive these notifications.
SMS Decline Notifications for Drivers
Drivers receive an SMS notification informing them of the decline reason. They can request the Fleet Manager to disable the security setting in case of emergencies.
Reviewing Declined Transactions
In the Fleet Dashboard’s Cards section under the Transactions tab, declined transactions are flagged for review. Details about the declined transaction, including the vehicle's location at the time of purchase and the distance from the merchant, are provided. This allows Fleet Managers to investigate and take further action.
Declined Transaction Details
When a transaction is declined due to a vehicle and spend location mismatch, essential validation details like distance, vehicle location, and merchant location are shown on the screen. If Fleet Managers notice an unauthorized attempt, they can freeze the card. If the Driver is using the card for emergency reasons, Fleet Managers also have the option to quickly disable the Auto-decline security settings.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
Drivers using Driver Cards must connect to the Vehicle Gateway to ensure the correct vehicle is assigned to the transaction to fetch the latest location details. In case of an incorrect auto-decline, they must check that the Vehicle Gateway is properly connected and is sending live location data.
