Can remarks and exceptions be added to Unsigned Driver Logs?

    • In compliance with FMCSA regulations, Motive restricts certain edits to unsigned Driver logs but allows specific exceptions and remarks to be added. 
    • With the latest update, Fleet Managers can add remarks and log exceptions to uncertified logs, while editing duty status or inserting new duty status entries remains restricted.

    • This update caters to the needs of fleets and enhances log management without compromising compliance.

     

    Actions allowed on Unsigned Logs

    When a log is unsigned, the following actions are allowed:

    • Adding a 16-Hour Exception
    • Adding an Adverse Driving Exception
    • Adding Remarks to the log

    Actions restricted on Unsigned Logs

    The following actions remain restricted when the log is not signed:

    • Inserting Duty Status entries
    • Editing existing Duty Status entries
    • Viewing Log Form

     

    Adding remarks or exceptions to Unsigned Logs

    • Navigate to the Driver Logs section within the Fleet Dashboard.
    • Select the log with an unsigned status.
    • Click the Edit button to add remarks or exceptions. The Edit option is available whether the log is signed or not.
    • Add the appropriate exception (such as a 16-Hour Exception or Adverse Driving Exception) or enter a remark.
    • Save the changes.
