    Introduction

The article contains the instructions for managing vehicle regulation modes in the Fleet Dashboard. It covers setting the correct regulation mode during vehicle creation and updating it if needed. Once a vehicle's regulation mode is set, only non-exempt Drivers with the necessary permissions can make changes. Bulk updates are not supported to prevent risks.

    Steps: Managing vehicle regulation mode

Creating vehicle(s) with the correct mode

Creating a single vehicle with the correct mode

Fleets can select the appropriate regulation mode during the setup process of creating a new vehicle.

Creating multiple vehicles (bulk upload) with the correct mode

Fleet should include a regulation mode column in the CSV file when uploading multiple vehicles to the Fleet Dashboard.

Note: All vehicles default to regulated mode if the regulation mode column is not included in the CSV file. Hence, the right mode must be specified for each vehicle.

    Editing vehicle regulation mode

    Editing a single-vehicle

Only non-exempt Drivers can change a vehicle’s regulation mode once it has been set during upload. These Drivers must have permission to make the change. Fleet Admins can enable this permission from the Fleet Dashboard.

Note: Once enabled, non-exempt Drivers can update the vehicle regulation mode using the Motive Driver App. Further information is available here.

    Editing multiple vehicles

Drivers must change the regulation mode for each vehicle individually. Bulk editing is not supported to maintain data integrity. This approach assures accurate recording of critical events like engine start-ups and shutdowns.

Note: Additional troubleshooting information is available here, and the article on why the regulation status can't be updated in bulk is here.
