How to enable WhatsApp Alerts

    Introduction:

    Motive enables you to receive alerts via WhatsApp, streamlining internal workflows and communication. Previously, Motive supported only SMS (for external recipients), in-app notifications, and email alerts, which limited usability and created inefficiencies.

    WhatsApp alerts can now be enabled directly within the Motive Fleet Dashboard, allowing fleets in Mexico to receive Motive alerts via WhatsApp.

    Note: This feature is in beta. To participate in beta testing, please contact Motive Support.

     

    Steps: WhatsApp Alerts through Fleet Dashboard

     

    Enabling WhatsApp Alerts

    1. Log into the Fleet Dashboard and click the profile icon.

    2. Click Account Settings.

    3. Ensure that you have added a valid and registered phone number in the user profile setting. Click Save.

    4. In the Platform dropdown, click Alert.

    5. Click Create Alert.

    6. Fill in the details by adding your user name as recipient to the alert

    7. Select recipients. Click Save, once done.

    8. Select WhatsApp as the alert method under Delivery Settings.

    Note: By default, Email and In-App Notifications are enabled.


    9. Click Save.

    Unsubscribing from Whatsapp Alerts

    1. You can unsubscribe from WhatsApp notifications by replying STOP to Motive directly in WhatsApp.

    1. To resume receiving alerts, text START to Motive.

    Receiving Motive WhatsApp alerts

    WhatsApp alerts are currently available only for internal recipients, such as drivers and fleet users. SMS can still be used to send notifications to external recipients.
