Introduction
The Audit Log feature provides administrators with a detailed record of user and system activity within the Motive platform. It allows teams to monitor changes and maintain accountability across fleet operations. This enhancement offers a more comprehensive, scalable, and reliable solution for tracking and analyzing activity data.
What’s New?
Audit Log now tracks the following actions as well:
- Changes to a fleet’s Safety & Coaching settings
- Edits performed ‘in bulk’ for drivers, vehicles and assets
- Changes made via public API
- Changes to a fleet’s developer settings, including adding API keys or modifying a webhook
Fleet Admins now have additional filters on the Audit Log page that allow them to filter out:
- API driven changes only
- Filtering out specific areas of the product that were modified (Fuel, Compliance, Safety for instance)
How does this help our customers?
With expanded coverage, the Audit Log gives Fleet Admins greater visibility and control over their operations. They can now perform more thorough audits and easily track key changes across the platform. By capturing a broader range of actions, the Audit Log helps teams identify issues faster, verify system and user activity, and strengthen accountability across their organization.
Fleet Admins can now track changes to:
- Unsafe behavior thresholds
- In-Cab alert settings
- Dashcam settings modifications that change privacy settings or video quality
- Coaching preferences
- New or existing webhooks
- New API keys
- Data changed via Public API

| Note: Due to the transition to the new system, logs created before the launch date will not appear in the Audit Log section on Fleet Dashboard. But all prior logs remain safely stored and are accessible by reaching out to your account representative or to the Motive support team. |
Rollout Plan
The enhanced Audit Log feature will begin rolling out to customers on Nov 4, 2025. This feature will be available to all customers in all Motive markets.
