Introduction

Universal Search is now located in the left-hand navigation menu of the Motive Dashboard, moving it from the Fleet View page. This change provides a centralized and consistent search experience across the entire platform, allowing you to search for drivers, vehicles, assets, and geofences no matter what page you’re on in the Motive dashboard.

Overview

What’s New?

  • Search Bar Relocation: The search bar, previously located in the Fleet View, is now permanently docked in the left-hand navigation menu of the Motive Dashboard. This makes it accessible from any page within the platform.
  • Universal Search Functionality: The newly relocated search bar still allows users to search for vehicles, drivers, assets, and geofences. Search results will take users directly to the corresponding pages within the Fleet View.
  • Fleet View Filters: Users will be able to filter vehicles, drivers, and assets directly on the Fleet View page using new, dedicated filter components.
  • Dedicated Location Search: A separate search bar is now available directly on the Fleet View map, enabling users to find addresses or points of interest without impacting the main Universal Search.

How does this feature help users?

Universal Search makes it faster and easier to find what you’re looking for on the platform.

  • Improved Efficiency: Faster access to key information such as vehicles, drivers, assets, and geofences.
  • Enhanced Productivity: A more powerful and centralized search experience helps users find what they need more quickly.
  • Consistent Experience: Users will have a uniform search bar available no matter which page they are on.
  • Retained Functionality: New, specific filters are being added to the Fleet View to maintain the ability to filter by vehicles, drivers, assets, and geofences on that page. A dedicated location search will also be available on the map.
