Driver Side Orientation

Introduction

Configure Driver Side Orientation directly from the Fleet Dashboard. This setting enables fleets to specify whether vehicles are left-hand drive (LHD) or right-hand drive (RHD), ensuring dashcam views and AI detections are aligned with the driver’s position.

What’s new?

Fleet Admins can now configure Driver Side Orientation in the Fleet Dashboard under Fleet Settings → Safety → Cameras.

The setting allows fleets to select:

  • Left-hand drive (LHD)- commonly used in regions such as North America.
  • Right-hand drive (RHD)- commonly used in regions such as the United Kingdom and other international markets.

Driver orientation can be configured at multiple levels:

  • Fleet level: Sets the default orientation based on the region of the fleet headquarters.
  • Group level: Allows overrides for specific vehicle groups.
  • Vehicle level: Allows individual vehicles to override inherited settings.

This hierarchy allows fleets with mixed vehicle configurations to manage driver orientation across their operations.

How does this help fleets?

This update provides several benefits:

  • Self-service configuration: Fleets can configure driver orientation without submitting support or engineering requests.
  • Simplified fleet management: Supports fleets operating both LHD and RHD vehicles.
  • Improved AI alignment: Ensures driver-facing AI detections are correctly oriented based on the driver’s position.

How to access this feature

The setting is available under Fleet Settings → Safety → Cameras for fleets using supported AI Dashcams.
