Attach PDF Files in Driver App Documents

Introduction

Drivers can now upload PDF, PNG, and JPG files when creating a document in the Driver App. This makes it simpler for drivers to submit existing digital documents. 

What’s New?

  • Additional file upload option: When adding a file to a document in the Driver App, users have three options: take a photo, select a photo from the camera roll, or select a file. Picking Select file opens the device's native file manager. 
  • Works across workflows: Available for Trip Documents, Driver Qualification Documents, and Other Documents in the Motive Driver App.

Note: 

  • Supported file types: This release supports PDF, PNG, and JPG uploads. File types such as .doc and .xls files are currently not a part of this release. Users can still take a photo or select an existing photo.
  • Driver App requirement: Motive Driver App v104 or higher is required to use this feature.

How does this help our customers?

  • Improved driver experience: Allows drivers to simply attach digital files they have received to documents in Motive.

Rollout Plan or Feature Go-Live date?

This will be made available in the US on 06/09/2026, and in Canada, Mexico, and the UK on 06/16/2026.
