Rebate Visibility Controls for Motive Cards

Introduction

Fleet admins can now set a company-level Rebate Visibility preference that controls whether drivers see partner rebates, organization-specific rebates, or both. Previously, all rebate types were combined into a single savings number shown to all drivers with no way to separate or restrict individual components.

What’s New?

Fleet admins can now set a company-level Rebate Visibility preference that controls whether drivers see partner rebates, organization-specific rebates, or both. Previously, all rebate types were combined into a single savings number shown to all drivers with no way to separate or restrict individual components.

The setting is accessible in the Fleet Dashboard under Admin > Cards > Settings and applies consistently across all driver-facing surfaces, including transaction details in the Driver App, Savings Finder, and Fuel Stop Recommendations. Existing transaction CSV exports and spend summary reports are not affected.

How does this help our customers?

Fleets with owner-operators often have contractual or accounting requirements that determine which rebate components should be passed through to drivers. Without this control, admins were forced to either show all rebates or hide all rebates, a limitation that created payment reconciliation issues and required manual workarounds.

With Rebate Visibility Controls, fleets can:

  • Pay owner-operators correctly by surfacing only the rebates they are entitled to
  • Keep company-level cashback and promotional rebates visible to admins only
  • Reconcile invoices and transaction records cleanly without rebate discrepancies surfacing in driver-facing views

This change does not affect how rebates are calculated or applied to billing — all rebate types continue to be earned and reflected on invoices regardless of the selected visibility mode.
