    Introduction

The Motive PTO AUX cable (Cable-5005) captures PTO (power take-off) activity. This helps in obtaining accurate usage data, such as information on location and duration of PTO use, classifying idling due to PTO, and providing alerts during unsafe scenarios where PTO is engaged on a moving vehicle.

Note: This is currently available to customers on the Pro and Enterprise subscription packages.

    What is a PTO Cable?

The PTO AUX Cable (Cable-5005) is a breakout harness installed between the Vehicle Gateway and any existing Motive vehicle cable. Its primary purpose is to detect PTO on/off activity and transmit that data to the Vehicle Gateway, which is then displayed in the Fleet Dashboard for actionable insights.

    PTO Reports & Alerts:

Once the cable is installed and reporting is enabled, the Motive platform provides enhanced monitoring through the Fleet Dashboard, including:

    • Monitor the location and duration of PTO engagements.
    • Distinguish productive PTO idle time from unproductive idle time, allowing better utilization analysis.

    • Receive real-time alerts when a vehicle moves while the PTO is still engaged, preventing unsafe scenarios.
