Answer
If an Vehicle Gateway/ELD fails to accurately record a driver’s Record of Duty Status for any reason, including but not limited to no Bluetooth connectivity, incorrect GPS location, failing to record driving time, phantom driving events, or other problems related to the VG, the customer is experiencing an Vehicle Gateway/ELD Malfunction.
Vehicle Gateway/ELD Malfunctions must be reported by drivers to Fleet Managers within 24 hours according to the procedure set out in Section 395.34 for Malfunctioning Vehicle Gateways/ELDs.
