    Answer

Drivers are allowed an extra 2 hours on both their shift and driving clock when encountering adverse driving conditions. This is aligned with FMCSA guidelines, which define adverse driving conditions as unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather, road closures, or traffic accidents that hinder normal driving. This rule does not apply to conditions that the driver could have anticipated before starting the trip.
