Introduction
Fleets that operate in remote or no-signal areas can now use prompt at the pump. A secure, standalone mechanism to unlock the Motive Card that allows drivers to unlock their cards
What’s New?
Fleets can now enable a driver-code-based unlock workflow for fuel transactions:
- Motive-managed driver codes: Drivers enter a Motive-generated, unique 6-digit numeric driver code directly at the fuel pump to unlock and use their Motive Card for fuel.
- Supports Low Connectivity Areas: Unlock happens via code entry at the pump, drivers can complete fuel transactions even in areas with limited or no cellular coverage or when they do not have a company smartphone.
| Note: This feature is not available to fleets by default. To enable this feature for Motive Cards, reach out to your Motive representative. |
How does this help our customers?
- Supports drivers in low-connectivity areas: Provides a secure alternative to mobile unlock for fleets (such as unionized fleets) whose drivers need to follow a no-cellphone policy, lack company phones, and operate in areas with limited or no cellular coverage.
- Flexible, fuel-focused control: Applies prompts only to fuel transactions while allowing non-fuel purchases to proceed as usual, and can be combined with the Motive Card unlock workflow for additional control where needed.
- Reduced internal fraud risk: Uses Motive-generated, six-digit numeric driver codes sent directly to drivers, discouraging insecure practices like reusing shared PINs or sensitive personal numbers.
