Introduction
Vehicle Availability helps fleet managers to understand which vehicles are ready for use and the vehicles currently out of service in the Motive Dashboard. The Maintenance status makes it easier for fleets to track vehicle availability, reduce confusion, and make faster day-to-day decisions.
What’s New?
- Maintenance status for vehicles: Mark vehicles as In Service or Out of Service to reflect whether they are available for use.
- Status history tracking: Track when a vehicle’s status was updated, who updated it, and any note added with the change.
- Availability reporting: Download a report that shows how long vehicles spent in each status during a selected time period, along with status change history.
- Driver warning prompts: Drivers can see a warning when they try to connect to or inspect a vehicle that is marked out of service.

Vehicle Availability helps fleets improve visibility into vehicle readiness and reduce the manual work involved in tracking downtime. Fleets can quickly see which vehicles are available and the ones that require attention, make more informed allocation decisions, reduce underutilization or overuse, and improve maintenance follow-up.
