Motive's AI Dashcam Plus (AIDC+) includes Live Two-Way Calling, providing fleet managers and drivers with a hands-free method to communicate directly through the AIDC+ device. Every AIDC+ plan includes access to the free tier of the Communications Plan, with a monthly call allowance. Customers have unlimited monthly calls under the paid Communications Plan. A free, one-time 90-day trial of the paid Communications Plan with unlimited monthly calls is available for organisations to initiate through the Fleet Dashboard.

What’s included in the free tier of the Communications Plan
Every Motive customer with an active AIDC+ subscription can use Live Two-Way Calling at no additional cost, including the following:
- Up to 5 fleet manager–to–driver calls per organisation per month (shared across your entire fleet, not per user)
- Calls placed directly from the Fleet Dashboard or Fleet App
- Hands-free, auto-connecting calls delivered through the AIDC+ device speaker and microphone
- Full end-to-end encryption on all calls
- Call logs (not recordings) in Motive Analytics

What’s included in the paid Communications Plan
The paid Communications Plan includes everything in your AIDC+ subscription, plus:
- Unlimited fleet manager–to–driver calling: Place as many calls as needed from the Fleet Dashboard or Fleet App to any AIDC+ vehicle in your fleet, with no monthly call limit.
The Communications Plan is a per-vehicle monthly subscription with no per-call or per-minute charges. It requires at least one active AIDC+ device subscription.
The 90-day free trial
Eligible customers can start a one-time, 90-day free trial of unlimited calling directly from the Fleet Dashboard – free, instant, and with no commitment. During the trial, you get unlimited fleet manager–to–driver calling.
Eligibility: The trial is available only to customers who:
- have an active, paid AIDC+ subscription,
- do not already have a paid Communications Plan, and
- have not previously used the trial.
Each account can use only one 90-day trial.
How to start the trial
- When your fleet reaches its monthly free-call limit, a paywall appears in the Fleet Dashboard or Fleet App.
- If you are an admin, click Start Trial to unlock 90 days of unlimited calling immediately.
- If you are not an admin, choose the option to notify an admin so they can start the trial for your organisation.
- During the trial, the dialler displays a countdown of the number of days remaining.
- Admins will receive reminders as the trial nears its end (45 days, 14 days, and 1 day remaining).
- When the trial ends, your fleet returns to the free tier (5 calls per organisation per month) unless you have signed an order for the Communications Plan.
If your account is not eligible for a trial, or if your trial has already ended, you can request an upgrade to the paid Communications Plan instead.
How to upgrade to the paid Communications Plan
You can request the paid Communications Plan directly from the Fleet Dashboard or by contacting your Motive account manager. After you submit a request, your Motive representative or account management team will follow up to finalise the subscription and enable unlimited calling on your account.

What’s the difference between the free and paid Communications Plan tiers?
Your AIDC+ subscription includes up to 5 fleet manager–to–driver calls per organisation per month, with a 30-minute maximum per call. The paid Communications Plan includes everything above, plus unlimited calling with no monthly limit. The 30-minute per-call limit always applies.
What hardware is required?
AI Dashcam Plus DC-63 or DC-64 with at least one active AIDC+ device subscription. The AIDC+ has an integrated speaker, microphone, and cellular connection that enables hands-free, in-cab two-way calling with no additional hardware or Bluetooth pairing.
What happens when the 90-day free trial ends?
Your account returns to the standard AIDC+ calling allowance (5 calls per organisation per month). Call data and logs created during the trial are preserved, and you can upgrade to the paid Communications Plan at any time.
Who is eligible for the free trial?
Customers with an active, paid AIDC+ subscription who do not already have a paid Communications Plan and have not previously used the trial. Each account can use only one 90-day trial.
Who can start the free trial?
Only fleet admins can activate the trial from the Fleet Dashboard. Non-admins can request that an admin start it.
Where is the Communications Plan available?
The United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.
Can drivers initiate calls?
Not yet. Driver-initiated calling via the "Hey Motive" AI Voice Assistant is expected in a future release. Currently, only fleet managers and authorised users can initiate calls to drivers.
