Fleet Managers can view, download, and share Dashcam video footage from the Fleet Dashboard. This article explains how to access safety event clips, requested videos, and live stream footage, and how to securely download and share them.
Overview
Dashcam video footage helps fleets investigate incidents, support insurance claims, meet compliance requirements, and coach drivers.
From the Fleet Dashboard, you can:
View safety event clips
Access requested videos
Start live streams
Download footage to your device
Share videos externally when needed
Access to video footage depends on your user permissions and company privacy settings.
Video Types Available
You can access and download the following types of footage:
Safety event clips: Automatically captured during safety events
Requested videos: Footage retrieved using the video recall feature
Live stream video: Real-time video viewed from a vehicle
Availability depends on your hardware, subscription, and permissions.
View Safety Event Clips
Log in to the Fleet Dashboard.
Click Safety in the left-hand menu.
Click the Events tab.
Click View details next to a specific event record.
- On the event’s page, you’ll be able to play the clip and view additional information from when the event was generated.
Download Safety Event Footage
Click View Details on a specific event record to open the video player.
Click the download button (usually represented as a downward arrow or labeled download) in the video player.
In the Customize your video download window, select:
Road-facing camera only or Both cameras
Raw, Basic, or Enhanced
Click Download.
The video is saved to your device’s default download location (for example, the Downloads folder).
| Note: Larger files may take longer to download, depending on internet speed and device storage. Videos can be downloaded on both desktop and mobile devices, but ensure your device is compatible and has enough storage for large files. |
View Requested Video Details
Click Safety.
Click the Requests tab.
Click the three dots next to the requested video.
Select View Requested Video Details…
You can review the retrieved footage once it becomes available
Download Requested Videos
Go to Safety > Requests.
Click the three dots next to the completed request.
Select:
Download road-facing video, or
Download driver-facing video.
Another way to download videos is by clicking the download icon on every video.
The video will download to your device.
Downloaded videos can be opened using your device’s default video player or another standard media player.
Share Dashcam Videos Externally
If you need to share footage with someone who does not have Fleet Dashboard access:
Download the video to your device.
Open your email, and create a new message.
Attach the downloaded video file.
Send it to the authorized recipient.

Live Stream Video
Live streaming allows fleet managers to view live AI Dashcam video on their Fleet Dashboard remotely and in real time.
Start a Live Stream
- In the Fleet Dashboard, go to Safety > Cameras.
- Click the three dots next to the desired event and select Start Live Stream.
Only users with live streaming permissions can initiate a live stream.
Prerequisites for Live Streaming
To initiate a live stream, ensure the following conditions are met:
- The vehicle has an AI Dashcam installed.
- The vehicle is turned on.
- The vehicle is within range of a working cellular signal (streaming quality depends on signal strength).
- The Vehicle Gateway has not exceeded its monthly data limit.
- The live stream feature is enabled for the vehicle.
- The requester has explicit live streaming permissions
Best Practices for Managing Video Footage
User permissions: Only authorized users can download and share videos.
Data security: Handle footage in accordance with company privacy policies.
Retention: Videos are retained for a limited time, as defined by company settings.
Authorized sharing only: Do not distribute footage beyond approved parties.
Secure deletion: Delete downloaded videos from your device when no longer needed.
