Dismiss a Safety Event

Motive now allows Fleet Managers to dismiss inaccurate safety events. Events dismissed within four weeks won't impact the driver's Safety Score, but those dismissed after four weeks will still be factored in.

Dismiss a safety event from the Fleet Dashboard

1. Log into the Fleet Dashboard and select Safety from the main menu on the left. 

2. Select the Events tab.

3. Choose the event you want to dismiss.

4. Click on Coaching Status dropdown and select Dismissed.

5. Choose from the options for dismissing the event.

6. Click on Dismiss.

7. If the reason is not mentioned, you can just select Other and write your reason before clicking Dismiss.

8. You will receive a notification saying the Event successfully dismissed.

FAQs

If a Safety Event is incorrect, can we remove it to avoid affecting the driver’s Safety Score?

Yes. Drivers cannot remove Safety Events from the Driver App, but Safety Admins and fleet managers can review the event in the Safety > Events tab of the Fleet Dashboard and dismiss it if it was misclassified or not coachable. Dismissed events are removed from the coaching queue and are excluded from Safety Score calculations and related coaching metrics, so they no longer hurt the driver’s score.
