This article introduces the availability of the all-new Vehicle Gateway Firmware V92108.

We're pleased to announce the release of the long-awaited Vehicle Gateway Firmware v92106. This latest update introduces a multitude of enhancements, greatly enhancing reliability and accuracy. Below, we've outlined the key improvements:

New Features (delta from v91):

  • New Safety Events algorithm on the edge + new motion event(s).
  • Expanded the list of blocked streaming sites for Wifi hotspots to minimize data consumption and associated costs, thereby mitigating the risk of throttling.

Other Content and Bug Fixes:

  • Bug fix: AI DC audio recording is disabled inappropriately following some privacy mode transitions.
  • Improved reliability of FOTA (Firmware Over the Air) to avoid an edge case of firmware corruption during upgrade.
  • Improvement in Dual CAN and cable detection.
  • Improved AI DC recording reliability post low-power mode for continuous data capture

The firmware update process is automated and hands-off, with Motive monitoring the release process throughout the weekend.

Our Fleet Management Dashboard offers reporting capabilities to track the current firmware version of the Vehicle Gateways. Access to this information is available through the Vehicle Gateway Detail Report.

Additionally, for fleet administrators looking to deploy this firmware to their fleet or a subset of their vehicles for testing self-service, we recommend reaching out to your Account Customer Success Manager (CSM) and/or our Support Team.

Rest assured, the firmware update process is seamlessly conducted via over-the-air functionality, eliminating the need for manual intervention. However, if necessary, you can refer to the provided steps for guidance, available here on our Support Center.
