    Introduction

Driver Privacy configurations allow fleets to ensure that driver-facing dashcams are only recording when there is a need for it. Using this feature, fleets can have the following configurations for their driver-facing cameras:

    1. Off when the vehicle is stationary or idle
    2. Only record when the engine is on
    3. Always Off
    4. Always On (default)

    Steps: Automating Driver Privacy

    Use Motive's Public API

    1. Access the /vehicles endpoint in Motive’s Public API library under ‘driver_facing_camera.’

    2. This is available for both POST and PUT endpoints:

    Set Triggers for Driver Privacy

    1. Using the API, you can manage Driver Privacy based on your internal workflows.

    2. For example, the driver-facing camera can be turned off each time a driver logs out of a native application that your fleet uses.
