    Introduction

The Driver self-coaching and training videos feature allows Drivers to review their safety events and receive targeted coaching through short, informative videos. This feature reduces the need for manager-led coaching sessions while encouraging drivers to improve their driving behaviors independently. It integrates seamlessly with the Motive Fleet Dashboard and Driver App, making safety coaching more efficient.

Note: Enable self-coaching for lower-priority behaviors to maximize manager time. Encourage Drivers to complete self-coaching within 7 days and monitor progress using the Coaching Effectiveness Report.

Driver Self-Coaching with Training Videos Overview

    Enable Self-Coaching

Fleet managers can enable the feature in Safety Coaching settings on the Fleet Dashboard. They can select specific behaviors for self-coaching, such as speeding and stop sign violations among others.

    Event Detection

When a safety event occurs, a relevant training video is automatically assigned to the Driver. Each assigned video corresponds to a specific unsafe behavior, offering Drivers clear explanations and actionable steps to improve. Training videos cover cell phone usage, close following, stop sign violations, and speeding, as explained below. More videos will be added in the future.

    1. Cell Phone Usage

Using a phone while driving is both dangerous and illegal. This video explains how it contributes to distracted driving collisions and introduces safer alternatives to stay focused on the road.

    2. Close Following

Tailgating significantly reduces a Driver's reaction time and increases the likelihood of rear-end collisions. The video demonstrates how maintaining a safe following distance helps prevent such incidents.

    3. Stop Sign Violations

Rolling stops at intersections can lead to serious crashes. This video emphasizes the importance of coming to a complete stop and outlines how to safely proceed through intersections.

    4. Speeding over Posted Limit

Driving above the speed limit increases the severity of collisions and may lead to legal and financial consequences. The video discusses the risks of speeding and encourages compliance with posted speed limits.

    Driver Notification

Drivers receive a notification in the Driver App prompting them to watch the assigned video.

    Video Review

Drivers watch the video, review the event, and mark it as reviewed.

    Event Marked as Coached

The event is automatically marked as coached in the Fleet Dashboard once reviewed.
