Organization Level Override Insights
Vehicle Admin 2.0 introduces advanced tools for managing overrides at the organization level, providing greater clarity, control, and scalability.
1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon.
2. Click Safety.
3. Click Unsafe Behavior Detection and Event Intelligence.
4. Click the override icon. A right-hand drawer opens, which displays a complete list of vehicles with customized settings for that feature.
5. Each vehicle shows an override underline and hover tooltip, allowing a quick view of Vehicle settings.
View Vehicle Overrides in Fleet Dashboard
1. A blue underline below a setting name means the setting has been overridden at the vehicle level.
2. Hover over the blue underline to compare the vehicle-level value and the organization default side-by-side.
3. Click Clear overrides to revert the setting to the organization default. You don’t need to update or cross-reference settings manually.
Compare Overridden Setting with Organization Default
An override disconnects the vehicle from the organization's default settings, meaning future changes at the organization level don’t affect the vehicle.
To reconnect the vehicle to the organization default, manually clear the override at either the organization or vehicle level..
The table below shows how vehicle-level overrides behave over time using the Hard Acceleration setting as an example:
Time | Organization Setting | Vehicle Setting | Linked? | Notes |
Month 0 | Acceleration Alert = 11 mph/s | Acceleration Alert = 11 mph/s | Yes (linked) | Default state. The vehicle inherits the organization's setting. |
Month 5 | 11 mph/s | Vehicle updated to 15 mph/s | No (overridden) | The vehicle was customized. No longer inherits from org. |
Month 10* | Updated to 15 mph/s | Vehicle still = 15 mph/s | No (overridden) | Settings match, but the vehicle is still detached from the org. |
Month 15 | Reverted to 11 mph/s | Vehicle = 15 mph/s | No (overridden) | Vehicle remains unchanged. Still detached. |
Month 20 | 11 mph/s | Vehicle manually set to 11 mph/s | No (overridden) | Despite matching value, still overridden unless cleared manually. |
Month 20 (after clearing) | 11 mph/s | 11 mph/s | Yes (linked) | Admin cleared the override. The vehicle is now reconnected. |
Month 25 | Updated to 12 mph/s | Vehicle = 12 mph/s | Yes (linked) | Vehicle auto-updated with org changes. |
Targeted or bulk override management
Whether managing a single vehicle or thousands, Fleet Admins can now clear overrides selectively by vehicle or group.
