Create Geofenced-based Risk Zone Alerts

Introduction

Geofence-based Risk Zone Alerts help you proactively identify and prevent vehicle theft by notifying you when a vehicle is near or stops within a high-risk area. 

Note: This feature is in Beta. Reach out to Motive support to enable it.

 

Steps: Geofenced-based Risk Zone Alerts

 

Create a Risk Zone Geofence

1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard and click Admin in the left-hand menu.

2. Click Geofences from the left-hand menu.

3. Click the Add Geofence button in the top-right corner.

4. Draw your desired geofence on the map or upload a bulk geofence file.

Note: Geofences listed in a CSV file can be imported using the Import Geofences.

5. In the geofence details, select Risk Zone as the Category.

6. Click Save.

Set Up Risk Zone Alerts

1. From the Admin tab, click Alerts.

2. Click the Create Alert button.

3. Fill in the required details to create the alert.

5. Under the Alert Type, select one of the following from the dropdown:

  • Geofence nearby
  • Stopped inside geofence

In case you select Stopped inside Geofence

  • Entity stopped inside Geofence for x duration: Configure the alert to be triggered if the vehicle has been stopped inside a Geofence for more than the configured duration "x"

In case you select Geofence Nearby

  • Entity nearby Geofence at X: Configure the alert to be triggered if the vehicle is within a range of the configured "x" distance from the Geofence. The distance can be in km or miles.
Note: This configuration only appears when the user selects the Geofence Nearby option.

6. Click Save.

Note: Select the Recipients for the alert and the desired Delivery Method (e.g., email, SMS, notification).
