Introduction
The Privacy Blurring feature in the Motive Fleet Dashboard automatically detects and obscures faces and license plates in dashcam footage to ensure GDPR and privacy compliance. Videos and images are blurred only when this feature is enabled from that point forward.

Configuring Privacy Blurring on Fleet Dashboard
1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click Admin icon at the bottom left corner.
2. Click Safety from the left-hand menu to access your company details.
3. Scroll down to the Dashcam section and click Edit.
4. Go to the Privacy blurring section. Choose what to blur:
- Road-facing camera → Blur faces and license plates(This option is enabled and locked in the EU region)
- Driver-facing camera → Blur everyone (driver + passengers)(This option is enabled by default and is configurable)
5. Select Save.
| Note: All actions (enable/disable blurring, download, view) are logged for at least 12 months for GDPR compliance. Logs can be accessed under the audit section in admin settings |
