Introduction
The AI Dashcam Plus 6-pin Cable J1708 is a new accessory that lets the AI Dashcam Plus (AIDC+) connect directly to 6-pin J1708 diagnostic ports in older vehicles. With this cable, fleets can extend video safety and telematics across mixed and legacy trucks.
What’s New?
- Extend AI Dashcam Plus to J1708 vehicles: The new 6-pin J1708 Y-cable (VCBL‑Y‑6PIN) plugs into a vehicle’s 6-pin diagnostic port and mirrors the familiar 6-pin setup used with existing Vehicle Gateway cables, while preserving OEM diagnostic access.
Enable safety and telematics on older vehicles: Adds trip and location tracking, available engine-based signals, AI-based dashcam events, video recall, and driver identification and coaching workflows for many older Class 6-8 tractors and vocational vehicles that were previously hard to support.

Rollout Plan or Feature Go-Live date?
Available for AI Dashcam Plus devices running Motive OS 1.25 or higher with J1708 support enabled. Earlier builds without J1708 enabled are not supported for this cable.
