Introduction
The Locate Asset feature in the Driver App provides drivers an easy and quick way to locate trailers, equipment, and other tracked assets directly from the Motive Driver App. This helps drivers find the right asset without relying on dispatch or searching a yard manually.
What’s New?
- Search for assets: Drivers can open Locate Asset from the Driver App main menu and search from a list of visible assets by asset name or ID.
- Asset map view: Selecting an asset opens a map centered on its last-known location. It shows the asset name or ID, type, time of last location update, and location source (GPS, Bluetooth, or cellular).
- Refresh asset location: For supported battery-powered assets, drivers can request a location update through the refresh option, and the Driver App notifies once the location is updated.
- Get directions: Drivers can send the asset’s location to a supported navigation app like Google Maps for step-by-step directions.
- Find nearby assets with BLE: Supported fleets can see BLE-detected assets in the Nearby section and see signal strength.
