How do I connect my Motive dashcam so it shows up in the Motive Fleet Dashboard?
There is no separate connect to website step for the dashcam. Once the hardware is set up correctly, it appears automatically in the Fleet Dashboard through the Vehicle Gateway.
To be connected in the dashboard, all of the following must be true:
- The dashcam is physically plugged into and mounted with the correct cable for the installed Vehicle Gateway in that truck (per the standard installation guide).
- The Vehicle Gateway is powered and online (truck ignition on, LEDs showing it is connected).
- The Vehicle and Vehicle Gateway are assigned to a vehicle profile in your Motive account.
When those conditions are met:
- In the Fleet Dashboard, under Safety > Cameras or via Devices > Dashcams, you’ll see the dashcam associated with that vehicle, including status, model, and recent media.
- You can then use the normal dashcam tools (viewing events, live images/streams, alignment checks, etc.) from the web.
If the dashcam does not appear:
- First confirm the Vehicle Gateway is online and the Dashcam is powered per the installation guidelines.
- Then use this article to verify where it should show and what a correctly connected Dashcam looks like.
- If it still does not show after a successful install and a few minutes of driving, Contact Motive Support with the vehicle ID and dashcam serial number so they can check activation and back-end mapping.
