FAQs
What is the driver facing AI detection experience?
This feature doesn’t impact any AI event/alert generation. Drivers will continue to get in-cab alerts for both driver and road-facing events. Fleet managers will see the events without the driver-facing videos.
Does the feature impact in-cab audio recording?
Yes, audio is not recorded with the Driver Privacy enabled.
Will the coaching workflow still work once Driver Privacy Mode is enabled?e
Yes, all the coaching workflow will still work but the driver-facing videos will not be available.
Is past driver-facing footage deleted when I activate this mode?e
No, privacy control takes effect only from activation onwards. Previously recorded content remains subject to earlier settings.
Does the AI event get annotated once the feature is enabled?
No, we don’t annotate.
If there’s an incident, will I have video proof for investigation or insurance?
Only road-facing video will be available; driver-facing video is not available. Customers must weigh privacy needs vs. potential evidence gaps.
Can I set privacy mode at Fleet or vehicle level?
Yes
Does privacy mode impact road-facing camera or coaching features?
Road-facing cameras and event reporting remain unaffected; coaching workflows operate using event metadata, but without driver-facing video.
Does Privacy Mode impact scoring?
No, AI detections will remain fully operational when this feature is enabled.
- All detection types (distraction, seatbelt, phone use, etc.) continue running.
- Alert configuration is still customizable.
- Coaching and existing workflows remain functional.
How does privacy mode impact facematch functionality?
If Driver Privacy (AI On) is enabled, Facematch will be disabled.
