Timecard Enhancements

Introduction

This update improves the existing Timecards experience by making clock-in and clock-out event locations more accurate and extending geofence-based clock-in and clock-out restrictions to iOS. This helps organizations manage timecards more consistently across devices without any changes to their existing setup.

What’s New?

  • Higher-accuracy GPS for clock events: Timecards now request a fresh GPS location the exact moment an employee clocks in or out, ensuring highly precise tracking data in the Fleet Dashboard.
  • Fallback location: If a fresh GPS fix is not available, the system automatically uses the  last known location so drivers can still clock in or out easily.
  • Geofence restrictions on iOS: Geofence-based clock-in and clock-out restrictions, previously exclusive to Android, are now available on iOS. When enabled, drivers on either platform must be inside an approved geofence to log their time.
  • No setup required for current users: Fleets that already use geofence restrictions do not need to reconfigure anything. Existing clock-in and clock-out location settings automatically apply to both Android and iOS drivers.

How does this help our customers?

  • More accurate location data: Precise clock event locations help fleets reduce geofence mismatches, payroll disputes, driver confusion, and support overhead when reviewing timecards.
  • Consistent enforcement across devices: Fleets with both Android and iOS drivers can now enforce the same location-based clock-in and clock-out rules across their workforce, reducing time fraud risk.
  • Reduced driver friction: Safe GPS fallback ensures drivers are not blocked from clocking in or out when GPS is temporarily unavailable while still capturing the best possible location. This keeps shifts moving smoothly while preserving location context for audits and reviews.
  • Improved compliance: With better location accuracy and consistent geofence enforcement, fleets can more confidently use timecards for payroll, compliance, and audit workflows, especially in operations with strict location-based time policies.
