Driver Qualification MVR Continuous Monitoring

Introduction

Driver Qualification MVR ContinuousMonitoring helps fleets continuously monitor enrolled drivers’ Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) from the Motive Fleet Dashboard. This enables safety and compliance teams to timely identify and act on new violations, suspensions, crashes, and other license-related changes without having to wait for the next manual or annual MVR check.

MVR Continuous Monitoring helps fleets reduce compliance risk, quickly follow up on issues, and review MVR activity directly from the Motive Fleet Dashboard Workforce Hub.

Note: Currently, MVR Continuous Monitoring is only available to US-based customers of Workforce Management. Interested in MVR Continuous Monitoring, contact your account manager to get started.

What’s New?

  • MVR Continuous Monitoring: Fleets can enroll drivers for ongoing monitoring of their Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs). This enables the Motive Platform to automatically retrieve MVRs activity when a driver’s record changes.
  • Driver enrollment: Admins can enroll drivers for MVR Continuous Monitoring from Workforce > Drivers. After a driver is successfully enrolled for MVR Continuous monitoring, a new MVR is automatically generated with the Enrollment label.
Note: An enrollment MVR is generated and returned only for the following US States: Minnesota, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio, California, Maryland, New York, and Texas. Moreover, enrollment MVRs come with a fee in California, Maryland, New York, Ohio, and Texas.
  • Activity MVR: Monitored MVR activity includes various changes in drivers' records such as violations, crashes, suspensions, license status, and changes in key medical details.
  • MVR labels: Monitoring MVRs are stored in the driver’s DQ file with clear labels such as Enrollment, Activity, Annual, EPN and on-demand to distinguish monitoring-generated records from manually-generated or annual MVRs.
  • Monitored MVR alerts: An alert will be automatically configured with a recipient list of all fleet admins. Admins are recommended to review that alert and update the list of recipients so the right teams are notified when a Monitored MVR is generated.
  • State-aware enrollment and CA EPN support: MVR Continuous Monitoring supports CA EPN for California drivers and receives EPNs for enrollment, activity, and annuals.

How does this help our customers?

  • Improved visibility into compliance risk: MVR Continuous monitoring helps fleets move beyond annual-only MVR checks. This reduces the risk of dispatching drivers with suspended licenses, serious violations, or lapsed credentials that could go unnoticed between scheduled reviews.
  • Faster risk response: Continuous monitoring and alerts for MVR activity help safety and compliance teams act sooner with coaching, remediation, or removal from service.
  • Reduced manual work: Automatic monitoring and retrieval of activity MVRs reduce the need to manually reorder MVRs or manage separate spreadsheets, alerts, and monitoring workflows outside of the Motive Fleet Dashboard.
  • Stronger compliance and audit readiness: By surfacing monitoring activity within Qualifications, fleets gain a complete, auditable record of how driver risk is monitored, reviewed, and acted on over time.
