How to modify/ set up custom safety events thresholds

    Introduction

    Braking, accelerating, and cornering safety events are detected from the vehicle gateway. The threshold definitions determine which events are automatically uploaded to the Fleet Dashboard for your viewing.

    Note: The configured definitions have no impact on the DRIVE score as it uses its own definitions. Learn more here.

     

    Steps: Configuring braking, accelerating, and cornering safety event definitions

     

    For all vehicles in the Fleet

    1. Log in to Motive Fleet Dashboard and click Admin in the left-hand-side menu.

    2. On the left-hand side menu, click Company to see your company settings.

    3. Click Edit Company Information.

    4. Motive defaults to the recommended value but you can move the sliders based on your risk tolerance. Setting your event threshold at a higher intensity will result in fewer events, and setting it at a lower intensity will result in more events surfacing in your Safety Hub.

    For a specific vehicle in your Fleet

    1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon at the bottom left corner.

    2. Click Vehicles in the left-hand side menu.

    3. Click on the Options dropdown next to the vehicle you want to modify. 

    4. Click Edit Vehicle.

    5. Under the Safety Events Settings section, check the Override Safety Event Threshold Settings for this Vehicle checkbox. This allows you to override the company-level settings for an individual vehicle.

    6. Set the threshold intensity of your choice.
