How to install Vehicle Gateway

    Steps: Installing Vehicle Gateway 

    1. Turn off the vehicle and enable the parking brake before you start the installation.
    You should have received the correct cable for your vehicle in the Vehicle Gateway box. Motive offers all the cables listed below.

    2. Confirm the location of your vehicle’s diagnostic port.
    Note: Refer to your vehicle’s written manual for in-depth guidance.

    3. Connect the diagnostic end of the provided cable to the vehicle’s diagnostic port. The red dots indicate possible locations of the diagnostic port on your vehicle.

    Note: You can make a direct connection to the diagnostic port or use a Y/Splitter cable to keep the diagnostic port accessible and/or mount the Vehicle Gateway in a more discrete location.

    4. Attach the 15-pin connector to the Vehicle Gateway and secure it using thumbscrews.

    5. Mount the Vehicle Gateway in your desired location. See a few examples below of other areas you can choose to mount your Vehicle Gateway:

    6. Clean the mounting area with the provided alcohol swabs.
    7. Remove the backing from the adhesive strips placed on the rear side of the Vehicle Gateway device.
    8. Attach the Vehicle Gateway to the cleaned area.
    Note: Make sure the device is properly mounted to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle.

    9. Once the Vehicle Gateway is connected, the LED lights turn on and turn red. If the lights do not immediately turn on, switch ON the vehicle ignition and the lights should illuminate. When the Vehicle Gateway has acquired a cellular/GPS signal, the left LED turns green.

    10. After the left LED turns green, a red blinking on the right indicates that the Vehicle Gateway captures engine speed telematics while signaling that the Driver App is disconnected.
