Viewing Vehicle's Location History

The Fleet Dashboard allows Fleet Managers and Fleet Admins to access the Location History of any vehicle they desire.

 

Steps: Viewing vehicle's location history

1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard. 

2. Go to Fleet View from left left-hand-side menu, and click the Vehicles tab.

3. To select a vehicle of your choice, use the Search by ID, Current Driver filter, or Issues filter, or scroll down the list.

4. Click on the vehicle you want to view the location history for.

5. In the Vehicles page, you can view the vehicle's history by clicking History or View Location History.

6. Under the History tab, use the Date filter to have a filtered view if required.

7. Tap on a location pin on the map to view more details.

Note: To protect the privacy of drivers, Motive only shows the location data when a driver’s duty status is set to Driving or On-Duty.

Viewing dashcam images 

  • Hover over the time slider to preview dashcam images at different times. Click a trip image to expand it and view timestamps for additional context.

  • The Trip Image Gallery can be opened by selecting the gallery icon in the bottom-right corner of the Trip History page. The gallery provides access to all trip images in chronological order, with options to switch between cameras and review activity for job verification and safety events.

FAQs

Where can I find a gallery view of all trip images?

In Vehicle or Driver history, click the new Trip Images button near the historical telematics charting and video recall buttons.

Can I switch between different cameras?

Yes, the gallery includes a Camera dropdown to view images from different dashcams installed in the vehicle.

Can I still access the expanded image view?

Yes. Clicking on any image in the gallery will open the expanded trip image view introduced in Phase 1.

Does this replace existing functionality?

No. It only adds new capabilities on top of existing dashcam trip history features.
