Introduction
AI Dashcam provides notifications and alerts related to the performance and activities of the Driver along with offering you the visual of the road.
How AI Dashcam Alerts Help You
When unsafe behavior is detected, the AI Dashcam automatically notifies Drivers through a combination of visual and audio feedback. To enable in-cab alerts below, you will need to visit your Motive Fleet Dashboard.
AI Dashcam Alerts Overview
The following in-cab alerts are available for activation via the Fleet Dashboard:
Startup
LED Color: White
This is the starting state used to communicate device activation. Note the Dashcam’s AI features will be unavailable until the startup process is complete.
This includes alerts for:
1. Bootup
- Visual: Progress LED bar in sync with the boot time
- Audio: No sound played
2. Firmware update
- Visual: Blinking LED bar
- Audio: No sound played
3. Initial activation
- Visual: No LED
- Audio: "AI Dashcam activated". This is a one-time alert
- Note: When complete, this means your Dashcam is ready to record. Don’t forget to calibrate your device before you can start using all of the AI detection!
Normal Operation
LED Color: Blue
Used to communicate when the device is operating normally.
This includes alerts for:
1. Recording
- Visual: Static LED bar (persistent)
- Audio: No sound played
2. Quick capture button
- Visual: LED bar in sync with upload duration
- Audio: “Uploading Quick Capture”
Coachable alerts
LED Color: Red
Used to communicate safety and action-oriented alerts.
This includes alerts for:
1. Unsafe behaviors (AI-detection)
-Speeding
- Visual: Blinking LED bar
- Audio: “Slow down. Company speed limit exceeded.”
-Close Following
- Visual: Blinking LED bar
- Audio: “Please keep your distance.”
-Cell phone usage
- Visual: Blinking LED bar
- Audio: “Please keep your eyes on the road.”
2. Unsafe behaviors (harsh events)
-Hard brake, hard acceleration, hard cornering
- Visual: Loading LED bar
- Audio: “Harsh event detected.”
LED Color: Yellow
Used to communicate login-related alerts.
This includes alerts for:
1. Unidentified trip (when a Driver forgets to log in to Driver App)
- Visual: Blinking LED bar
- Audio: “Please connect to your vehicle in the Driver App.”
Device issues
LED Color: Violet
Used to communicate when the device has issues.
This includes alerts for:
-Camera disconnected, Vehicle Gateway disconnected
- Visual: Blinking LED bar
- Audio: “Dashcam disconnected, please check cables.”
