Safety Events on the Fleet Dashboard

This article explains how to locate, review, and manage safety events on the Fleet Dashboard. It covers how to navigate the Events list, preview and review media, access detailed telemetry, request additional video, use coaching workflows, and monitor driver safety behavior.

Overview

The Safety Events experience provides fleets with a centralized view of all detected safety events and offers tools to assess risk and take action quickly.

The feature helps fleets:

  • Review safety events with instant video previews.
  • Access detailed event context, telemetry, and driver information.
  • Navigate events efficiently using Quick View or full Event Details.
  • Request additional footage for deeper investigations.
  • Manage coaching workflows to support driver behavior improvement.
  • Monitor trends and related events from the same trip.

Accessing the safety events list

  1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard.
  2. Go to Safety → Events.

The Events List displays a summarized view of each event, including:

  • Video preview thumbnails
  • Event type and severity
  • Driver information (when identified)
  • Date, time, and location
  • Coaching status
  • Shortcuts for quick follow-up actions

Previewing and reviewing media

Hover to preview video

Hover over a video thumbnail to instantly preview footage without opening the event. This allows fast scanning of events to assess urgency. desktop-full (17).png

Using quick view

Select an event row to open Quick View, a streamlined review panel.
Quick View allows users to:

  • Watch the event video
  • Identify the driver involved
  • Review event severity and metadata
  • View the incident location
  • Update coaching status
  • Add or review event notes
  • Download the video or open full details for

Keyboard navigation

Use arrow keys to move through events efficiently:

  • ⬆⬅ = previous event
  • ⬇➡ = next event

Full screen mode

Select the full-screen icon in Quick View to expand the video.

Full screen mode includes:

  • Enhanced video playback
  • Additional telemetry information
  • Larger interface for detailed review

Using the video player

Available safety video player options include the ability to:

  • Replay the video
  • Adjust playback speed
  • Toggle audio on or off
  • Hide the driver-facing video
  • Enter full screen
  • Expose/hide the telematics bar

Users may also download the original camera footage for offline investigations, review, or sharing. desktop-full (22).pngdesktop-full (23).png

Driver coaching and safety insights

Driver context is available in Quick View and in the full Event Details page. This includes:

  • Driver identity and assignment
  • Safety Score (if enabled)
  • Top unsafe behaviors affecting score
  • Recent event frequency
  • Trend indicators

If the system cannot identify the driver, the event will display Unidentified driver.

Viewing full event details

Open full details

Full event details can be accessed by:

  • Selecting View full details from Quick View, or
  • Selecting View details in the Event List

Event details include

  • A larger video review window
  • Full telematics data and speed graphs
  • Event metadata (duration, speed, g-forces, direction, etc.)
  • Trip map with linked events
  • Notes and coaching workflows
  • Complete video recall workflow and audit trail

Vehicle & telematics data insights

Event media is synchronized with vehicle telemetry, allowing review of:

  • Speed
  • Acceleration and braking activity
  • RPM
  • Turn signal status
  • Seat belt status
  • Cruise control status

Signal availability depends on vehicle make, model, year, and onboard systems.

Users can collapse this section using the Toggle telematics icon.

Trip timeline & map view

The event map provides additional context, including:

  • Exact incident location
  • All other safety events from the same trip
  • Indicators where additional video footage is available

Select a point on the map to jump to the related event context.

Requesting additional video footage

If more context is needed before or after the recorded clip, users can request more video directly from the Event Details page. desktop-full (37).pngdesktop-full (31).pngdesktop-full (38).png

The request history and access will remain visible inside the Event Details under the Additional Videos section, as well as in

  1. Safety → Requests

Additional footage requested is available for viewing & download in the Safety → Requests tab, where videos can be downloaded in:

  • Raw format
  • Basic format with video details & speed reading

Live stream access

For vehicles equipped with Live Stream capabilities (AI Dashcam and Live Stream-enabled cameras), users can start a live stream directly from Event Details.

Live Stream can help:

  • Check real-time driver status
  • Validate ongoing unsafe behavior
  • Confirm safe resolution after an incident

Taking notes and updating status

Coaching and follow-up actions can be managed in both Quick View and Event Details.

Users can:

  • Mark an event as Coachable, Coached, or Dismissed desktop-full (34).png

  • Track follow-up progress
