Introduction
The Canadian Split Sleeper Provision allows the Drivers to split their off-duty time into multiple sleeper berth periods. The shift calculation point (16 hours in Canada South and 20 hours in Canada North) automatically resets at the end of the first sleeper berth period.
How Canadian Split Sleeper Provision Helps You
The Canadian Split Sleeper Provision allows Drivers to easily extend their on-duty period by splitting off-duty periods.
Note: The Canadian Split Sleeper toggle is coming soon in Driver App to help Drivers view their remaining hours before completing both periods. |
Canadian Split Sleeper Provision Overview
Here’s how the Canadian Split Sleeper Provision works:
For Individual Driver
- The Split Sleeper Provision for an individual Driver is met when the Driver takes two qualifying periods, both on the sleeper status totaling at least 10 hours (neither period is shorter than 2 hours).
- The new shift begins after the first qualifying period, regardless of whether it's the smaller one or the larger one.
For Team Drivers
- For team Drivers, the Split Sleeper Provision is met when the Drivers take two qualifying periods, both on the Sleeper status totaling at least 10 hours (neither period is shorter than 4 hours).
- The new shift begins after the first qualifying period, regardless of whether it's the smaller one or the larger one.
