Introduction
Motive now provides fleet admins with the ability to enable the agriculture exception for ELD drivers. Enabling this exception allows drivers to set an agricultural source in the app and receive proactive notifications when entering or exiting the 150-mile radius from the source. Additionally, any duty status recorded inside the radius is automatically annotated, indicating the use of the agriculture exception.
Note: The Agriculture Exception is only applicable to drivers operating in the US; it will automatically turn off when the driver is under Canadian HOS rules in the Motive Driver Application. Reference CFR 395.1(k). |
Steps: Enabling agricultural exception using Driver App
1. Open the driver hub bottom drawer. Below the Vehicle Mode section, you will see Agriculture Exception.
Note: By default, the exception will be turned off until the driver adds a source location. If you cannot see this option, you can contact your fleet admin or Motive support to enable this. |
2. Adding an agricultural source requires an active connection with the vehicle gateway and a stable internet connection. Below are the errors you will encounter if these conditions are not met.
3. Upon enabling the toggle for the first time, a map screen will open to select an agricultural source location.
4. By default, the current location is selected as the agricultural source, with a blue circle indicating a 150 air mile distance from the source.
5. You can either choose your current location as the agricultural source or select another location as the agricultural source before entering the 150 air miles radius.
6. Select the location and click Save location.
7. Disconnecting from the vehicle gateway later on will also stop the distance tracking from the added source location.
