    Introduction

According to the law created by the FMCSA, a driver's allotted shift time is 14 hours per day. If a shift extends even a second beyond the 14-hour window, it will result in a violation.

    Steps:

    1. Check the start time of the shift.

The shift is seen to be started at 06:28:00 AM and adding 14 hours to this, shift must end by 08:28:00 PM. A second above this time will lead to a violation.

    2.  Check end time of the shift.

As observed from the graph above and time duration of the event the driver faced a 14 hour shift limit violation as he kept on driving above the allotted time for the shift.

    Example

If a shift starts at 8:00 AM, 14 hours from this would be 10:00 PM, so that is when the shift will end.
