AI Dashcam is not recording properly

    Symptom(s): AI Dashcam is not recording properly

    The Dashcam is connected but it is not recording properly. It shows a recording uptime of 0% for the last 7 days of engine ON and at least 30 minutes of drive time.

     

    Solution

    Turn on the Vehicle Gateway

    1. Ensure the Vehicle Gateway connected to the Dashcam is powered on.

    2. Check the LED activity on the Vehicle Gateway. Both LEDs should initially turn red. The left LED turns green once the Vehicle Gateway acquires a GPS signal.image2.png

    Dashcam cable damage check

    1. Inspect the Dashcam and its cable for damage, rust or corrosion.

    2. Examine the USB end of the cable for any signs of wear.

    3. If you find any damage, please contact support.

    Dashcam power cycle troubleshooting

    1. Ensure the vehicle's engine is running.

    2. Unplug the Dashcam from the Vehicle Gateway's USB port.

    3. Keep the Dashcam unplugged until all the LEDs in the camera are turned off.

    4. While the vehicle's engine is still running, plug the Dashcam back into the Vehicle Gateway's USB port.

    Dashcam pinhole reset

    1. Locate the pinhole on the left side of the Dashcam.

    2. Press the pinhole for 10-15 seconds using a paperclip or similar tool. 

    3. The center white LED lights up once the button is pressed for up to 10 seconds.

    4. Release the pinhole and it should continue to blink. If it stops, repeat the previous step.

    5. Reset the AI Dashcam. 

    6. The light blinks white, indicating that the Dashcam is updating its firmware.

    Note: If the pinhole reset is not done correctly, you may need to try it multiple times. If the dashcam doesn’t respond on the first try, it's recommended that you repeat the process.
