How does Unsafe Parking AI work?
The AI Dashcam detects Unsafe Parking under specific conditions:
- Detection: The AI model identifies when a vehicle is parked in a high-risk or unauthorized area using camera vision and GPS data.
- Location Analysis: The system verifies the vehicle’s location by cross-referencing it with posted speed limits, ensuring it is parked on a road with a speed limit of 45 mph or higher.
- Time and Duration Monitoring: The system tracks how long the vehicle remains in an unsafe area, triggering an event if the duration exceeds 3 minutes or more.
Once an Unsafe Parking event is detected, the Motive platform takes the following actions:
- Unsafe Parking Safety Event: A video event is generated and published under Safety > Events in the Motive Fleet Dashboard.
- Email Notification: Fleet Admins or Managers receive alerts if alerts are configured.
- Driver Mobile Coaching: If auto-coaching is enabled, Drivers are notified in the Motive Driver App about high-severity Unsafe Parking events.
Note: Unsafe Parking AI detection doesn’t currently support in-cab alerts. The AI model is still being trained to ensure accuracy before triggering alerts. |
