Unconfirmed Collision Alerts

Motive's collision detection algorithm accurately identifies up to 99% of severe collisions. In rare cases, extreme impacts can disconnect the Vehicle Gateway (VG) or Dashcam (DC), preventing video upload. When this happens, a collision event is not generated, and Fleet Managers may miss critical safety insights.

Unconfirmed collision Alerts bridge this gap by notifying Fleet Managers when telematics data strongly suggests a collision, even if video is not uploaded.

Note: Motive may not detect every high-severity collision. In some situations, the impact is significant enough that the Vehicle Gateway cannot send data to our servers. When this happens, an unconfirmed collision alert is not generated.
Note: This feature requires a Motive Dashcam and Vehicle Gateway. For more details, contact Motive Support

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does Motive detect an Unconfirmed Collision?

The system analyzes telematics data, such as speed, G-force impact, braking patterns, speed and direction of rotation, etc., along with video recall failed signal, to detect unconfirmed collision.

Do Unconfirmed Collision Alerts mean a crash has happened?

Not necessarily. These alerts indicate a high likelihood of a collision, but they are not confirmed due to the absence of video evidence.
