Does Smoking AI work for all Dashcam types?
No. It is only supported on the AIDC-54 dashcams with driver-facing lenses. SmartDCs are not supported.
What subscription plan or device is required to use this feature?
Available to all customers using AIDC-54 driver-facing dashcams.
Will Smoking events count toward a driver’s Safety Score?
No
Can a customer change the minimum duration for Smoking detection?
Yes, but to make this change, please reach out to Motive Support.
Is the default severity for smoking configurable?
Not automatically. It is set to High by default, but can be manually adjusted in severity during event review.
Can you adjust the video start and end time for a Smoking event?
No. Event durations are fixed across all AI behaviors.
When is video captured for Smoking events?
Typically, at the start of the event, depending on when the model confidently detects smoking.
