Introduction
AI Coach Expanded Coverage makes the weekly AI-powered performance recaps available to fleets that do not use Safety Score while adding positive recognition for drivers with no coachable events over the week. This update reduces manual coaching work for safety teams while giving drivers consistent, positive feedback that helps improve performance and retention.
What’s New?
AI-powered performance recaps are now available to fleets without Safety Scores with the addition of positive recaps that recognize drivers for clean, incident-free weeks.
- AI Coaching for fleets without Safety Score: AI Coach now generates weekly recaps whether the Safety Score is enabled or disabled, so automated video coaching becomes accessible to more fleets and drivers.
- Event rate trend: When Safety Score is disabled, Motive AI Coach uses a 12‑week event rate trend (events per 1000 miles) instead of Safety Score to evaluate driver performance and create the automated recap video.
- Positive recaps: Drivers who have no coachable events in a given week will now receive a positive acknowledgment recap that reinforces safe driving, whether Safety Score is disabled or enabled.
- More coaching paths and coverage: To ensure more drivers receive relevant feedback each week, AI Coach now supports multiple recap paths, including the following:
- Safety Score enabled or disabled with coachable events
- Safety Score enabled or disabled with zero coachable events
- Safety Score steady with no score impact
- Coaching for the first week of new drivers
- New behavior selection logic: When Safety Score is disabled, AI Coach selects the top three coachable behaviors by event volume, breaking ties by severity, to keep each recap focused and actionable.
