Introduction
Fleets can now assign Motive Cards to assets in addition to drivers and vehicles. Each asset can have its own card and spending rules, so it’s easier to track costs, control spend, and keep reports accurate.
What’s New?
- Asset-assigned cards: Fleet admins can assign new or existing Motive Cards directly to assets, so each asset becomes the main cardholder instead of a driver or vehicle.
- Easy reassignment with clear history: Admins can move cards between assets and, when allowed, between assets and vehicles, while still keeping a clean record of past transactions for reporting.
- Asset-level spend controls: Fleets can set spending limits and rules based on asset type or individual assets, making it easier to control and customize how each asset can spend.
- Simpler field workflows: When a card is associated with a specific asset, drivers and operators are not forced to repeatedly re‑select the asset in order to complete routine transactions.
How does this help our customers?
- Stronger control over spend: Customers can set clear limits and rules for each asset, so they have in-depth analysis of expenses.
- Reliable reports: As cards are tied directly to assets, reporting is simpler and more accurate, without fake drivers or vehicles cluttering the data.
- Built for asset-heavy fleets: It works especially well for customers who run a lot of equipment (not just vehicles) and need separate policies and reporting for each asset type.
