Device Status History Report

Introduction

The Device Status History Report gives fleet managers a chronological view of device status and sub-status changes over time with timestamps and location details. This will help fleets investigate and get clarity on connectivity and hardware issues faster.

What’s New?

  • Historical status timeline: View every status change for a device over time (for example, when it moved from Normal to Powered off), instead of only a simple connected or disconnected view.
  • Detailed event context: Each status change entry in the report shows the vehicle, device, serial number, status, sub-status, start and end times, assigned driver details, and the vehicle’s last known location when the status began.
  • Flexible search and filtering: Select a vehicle or search by device serial number, then narrow results by device and status. The report defaults to the last 30 days and displays entries from newest to oldest.
  • Connected Device Hub experience: Open the Device Status History Report from Analytics or various Device Hub surfaces with relevant device or vehicle context.

How does this help our customers?

  • Faster troubleshooting: See the sequence of status and sub-status changes behind a device issue instead of reconstructing events across multiple reports.
  • Reliable device auditing: Use a single historical view aligned with Device Hub terminology to review device behavior and investigate discrepancies in connection data.
  • Informed operational decisions: Understand how long a device remained in a status and use the timeline to guide maintenance, yard, and fleet operations.
  • Self-serve investigation: Review history after installation, troubleshooting, or device reassignment without depending on manually prepared status summaries or support follow-up.
  • Clearer current-to-historical workflow: Move from a device’s current status to its historical context in the same Device Hub experience.
