Introduction
Driver App reefer alerts deliver temperature change and door-open event alerts directly to drivers through push and in-app notifications. By notifying drivers of reefer issues in real time, these alerts help drivers protect temperature-sensitive cargo by acting quickly and preventing spoilage.
What’s New?
- Real-time reefer alerts for drivers: Drivers now receive push and in-app notifications in the Motive Driver App when reefer temperature or door-open alerts trigger for the reefers they are hauling.
- Assigned reefer routing: Notifications are sent only to the driver currently assigned to the vehicle with the attached reefer, preventing cross-vehicle or cross-asset noise.
- No extra setup required: Driver notifications use your existing temperature and door alert settings from the Fleet Dashboard, so admins do not have to create or manage a new set of alerts for drivers.
- Read-only alerts for drivers: Drivers can view and act on reefer alerts from the Driver App, while alert configuration and thresholds remain managed by fleet admins in the Fleet Dashboard.
- Availability: Driver App reefer alerts are enabled on request for customers who:
- Use compatible temperature or door monitoring products such as Motive Door and Environmental sensors (ES-2, DES-2) or Carrier and/or Thermo King API integrations.
- Already have the Driver App reefer support feature enabled.

- Stronger cold-chain compliance: Pairing reefer alerts with existing live data and historical logs in the Driver App creates a clearer audit trail for temperature-sensitive loads and supports regulatory and shipper requirements.
- End-to-end reefer monitoring: Together with live reefer data and logs already available in the Motive Driver App, Reefer Alerts complete the end-to-end cold-chain experience on mobile so drivers can monitor, investigate, and act from a single place.
