How to Assign Unidentified Trips to Drivers and Add Notes

    Introduction

    Unidentified trips occur when a driver does not connect to the Vehicle Gateway. Fleets are required to annotate all log edits, including assigning or annotating trips. If your fleet is required to maintain logs, make sure that each unidentified trip has an annotation or assignment.
     
     

    Steps- Adding Notes and Assigning Unidentified Trips 

     

    Add Notes to an Unidentified Trip

    1. Log into the Motive Fleet Dashboard, and from the Fleet View section click on the Trips tab.

    2. Click on the Select Driver filter, and select Unidentified.

    3. Click on the unidentified trip you want to resolve.

    4. To annotate the selected trip, click on the Note text field. You can either select a note from a list of dropdown options or enter in custom text.

    5. Click Enter from your keyboard to save the note.
     

    Assign an unidentified trip

    1. From the Trips screen, click on the unidentified trip you want to assign.

    2. Click on the Assign button from the trip’s detail page.

    3. Click on the Driver Name field to select the Driver from the dropdown list.

    4. Select a Trip Type and add a Note
    5. Click on the Assign button.
    Note: For Exempt Drivers, the Trip Type field is not applicable. Simply annotate the trip Note and click Assign.
