Excessive In-cab alerts for Speeding

Drivers report excessive in-cab alerts generated though they are not speeding. It might be due to the low-speed limit for generating in-cab alerts. Once they go above the set limit, a dashcam generates an alert inside the cab.

Note: Motive, by default, generates a speeding event when the vehicle has driven 6 mph over the posted speed limit for more than 1 minute.

This issue occurs due to the low-speed threshold configured for in-cab speeding alerts. Updating the speed limit will resolve the issue.

1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard, and click the Admin icon.

5. Scroll to Speeding Over Posted and Speed Over Policy to adjust the In-cab alert thresholds.

6. Change the value for In-cab alert as required. Click Save once done.

FAQs

How to configure the definition for speeding event generation?

Speeding is detected from the vehicle gateway. The threshold definition determines which speeding events are automatically uploaded to the Fleet Dashboard for you to view.

Note: The configured definitions have no impact on the Safety Score as it uses its own definitions.

  1. Log in to Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon.
  2. Click Safety
  3. Click Unsafe Behavior Detection and Event Intelligence.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Set limits of your choice.
  6. Click Save.
