Introduction
Motive now allows Fleets to require Drivers to be inside a geofenced yard to select the Yard Move duty status. This feature helps prevent misuse of yard moves and ensures that Drivers remain in compliance with regulations.

Steps: Enabling access to validate yard moves inside geofence in the Fleet Dashboard
1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon in the bottom-left corner.
2. In the Products dropdown, click Compliance.
3. In the Duty Status settings section, click Edit.
4. Check the box that says Allow drivers to use ‘Yard Move’ when inside geofenced yard.
5. Click Save when done.
6. Once saved, the Drivers can only select the Yard Move status when they are inside a geofenced yard which is categorized as Terminal/Yard. If the Driver is not found to be inside the geofenced yard, they are unable to change their duty status to Yard Move.
7. To ensure that geofence is categorized correctly, click Geofences from left hand-side menu.
8. Check the Category column and ensure that your geofences are assigned the correct category, which is Terminal/Yard.
- To check the category for an existing geofence, search the geofence of your preference in the search bar and results appear on the screen.
- To set up the right category for a new geofence while creating it, select Terminal/Yard from the Category dropdown menu.
